Vet Steroids II

Anabolic steroids were first developed in groups with small deviations, if scientist found the best analogue, they researched it and when their company believed it could become profitable they would market it. All anabolic steroids were just pharmaceutical drugs. There were roids for human and veterinary steroids. Also veterinary compounds for increasing muscle mass (meat) cattle.

They were used for a long time and some of them are still in use. So what’s wrong with? The answer could be short, nothing. Fact is that the global operating pharmaceutical industry is very powerful and earns very little on these compounds often with expired patents.

Prescription drug, biotechnology and medical device companies spent more than $700 million lobbying Congress and the Obama administration. They have spent millions in campaign contributions. Donations went to both Republicans and Democrats.

Along with the financial lobbies, the pharmaceutical and health products industries have historically been one of the biggest and most powerful lobbies in Washington. Drug companies enjoy more power and influence in America than with any other government in the world. Pfizer Inc, one of the major political contributors of the pharmaceutical industry, spent more than $25 million dollars in 2009, ensuring that the Obama administration’s health care reforms didn’t rock the boat overmuch.

Slowly all prescription and OTC roids disappeared. Mostly before a country was able to organize the Olympic games, they banned their anabolic steroids. Like by example Greece and Spain.

But not all roids have disappeared and some are still used on animals like by example dogs, horses sheep, pigs, poultry etc. Some are joining an online discussion forum to discuss the use of them which gives us a nice insight on their experiences and thoughts. Another plus is that those forums are not polluted with angry young little keyboard warriors, flaming and bashing other users.

The quotes I post here are written by other people and don’t reflect my personal opinion.

From the fora (link to the discussion forum below this blog post): “The use of AAS(Anabolic-Androgenic Steroids) in canines is certainly nothing new.  Top Greyhound Racing Kennels have been using them for decades.  The use of AAS have certainly not been limited to Greyhounds either.”

“No Steroid is a magic elixir. They are simply a tool that aids the Canine or human athlete in recovery, muscle building, and some like Equipoise will increase the Red blood cell count and aid in the transport of oxygen as well as improve nutrient transport, making less food become more efficient.”

“I reply to posts when I know about the topic. I write from events I have experienced and seen. I have been around athletes both canine and human all my life.  I am very aware of what competition at top level entails.”

“I personally don’t have a problem with the ethical use of anabolics. They can help many medical conditions better than the drugs we commonly use. The only reason they are not used more frequently in dogs is because of the social stigma attached.”

“There are no injectable AAS that would be given every day. The best steroid for a canine's conditioning period will vary from conditioner to conditioner. I know some who refuse to give their charge an IM injection during the training period. They will give B 12 injections Sub Q, but only use tabs for their AAS.”

“For tabs most prefer Anavar. For an injectible most prefer Equipoise(boldenone undecylenate). This is a very safe roid. It has an active-Life of 7-9 days, so weekly injections suffice.”

“I even knew dog trainers of weight pull dogs, who would put a few Cheque drops on their charge's tongue right before Showtime. Cheque drops had no anabolic (muscle building) properties what so ever, but their androgenic (masculinizing) properties were off the charts.”  ** It is very well known that Cheque Drops increases aggression, that’s the reason (kick) boxers and cage fighters use them, this compound is also abused for pit bull fights.

“No Steroid is a magic elixir. They are simply a tool that aids the Canine or human athlete in recovery, muscle building, and some like Equipoise will increase the Red blood cell count and aid in the transport of oxygen as well as improve nutrient transport, making less food become more efficient.”

“Just like humans, some Canines are better candidates for AAS, and their bodies respond better than others. Other variables come into play as well when thinking of using AAS. I would be much more apt to use AAS on a hard gainer, than I would an easy keeper who has difficulty losing fat and unhealthy weight.”

Winny-V (stanozolol)

“A trainer of a performance dog should stay away from Winstrol or Winstrol-V as Winstrol increases collagen synthesis. It will give bigger tendons. However, the body compensates for this by making them more brittle, weaker, and more prone to injury. I can't tell you how many athletes work out anaerobically and become injured while on winstrol. Baseball players who sprint all out from a stationary position, winstrol should be the LAST drug they choose. Most of them like winstrol because they don't get the weight gain from it but it is very detrimental to athletes who train for any sport anaerobically. Tendons tear easily on it.”

**Most of us know that most studies on anabolic steroids are performed on animals like monkeys, rats, dogs, pigs etc. This one has been done on dogs as stanozolol is often used in dogs.

Study to bioavailability: The objective of the study was to determine the influence of either oral or intramuscular administration of stanozolol on nitrogen retention in dogs. Ten healthy, intact, adult male sled dogs received either stanozolol tablets, 2 mg/dog PO, for 25 days (Group 1, n = 5) or an intramuscular injection of 25 mg of stanozolol on Days 7, 14, 21, and 28 (Group 2, n = 5).

Both oral and injectable stanozolol resulted in significant increases in amino acid nitrogen retention compared to pretreatment values. Oral stanozolol increased nitrogen retention from 29.2 +/- 8.2% to 50.3 +/- 9.2%, while stanozolol injection increased nitrogen retention from 26.6 +/- 9.9% to 67.0 +/- 7.5%. The response to intramuscular administration was significantly greater than the response to the oral dosing regimen. Stanozolol increases amino acid nitrogen retention in dogs, as has been previously observed in rats. This action of stanozolol may be beneficial in dogs under stress of surgical trauma and chronic disease. Okay, so the oral dose was 28mg/week and the injected dose was 25mg/week. And the injected dose was far better at increasing nitrogen retention (67.0% versus 50.3%). This makes it about 33.2% better (roughly speaking), so if I extrapolate, it means to see the same effects as 25mg of injected stanozolol per week, you'd need to take about 38mg of it orally.

“In the 70's I knew dog trainers who loved the Roid Maxibolin. It was popular with most all DVM's. In reality Maxibolin had very weak anabolic properties.” ** Maxibolin has been reborn in Australia, however, as a veterinary-use steroid paste 'Nitrotain'. Containing 2mg/gm ethylestrenol, it is still available. A typical dose for Maxibolin (or Nitrotain) would be 10 - 20 mg daily, usually stacked with other steroids. One particularly effective stack was Winstrol (Stanazol) and Maxibolin.

Race Horses

At a time when alleged abuses of performance-enhancing anabolic steroids are making headlines in many professional and Olympic sports, questions about their use in horses also are coming to the forefront.

Based on a number of hearings, Congress appeared close to legislating a ban on anabolic steroids in horseracing. The Jockey Club is seeking a crackdown to clean up the integrity of the sport and in recent months more than a dozen state racing jurisdictions have enacted or are considering controls on anabolic steroids in racing horses.

“We needed to deal with this as an industry, or Congress was going to do it for us." "They (anabolic steroids) need to be eliminated in racing" "The bottom line is, nobody wants anabolics in football or baseball players and to have horseracing as the only major sport out there allowing them. "It creates a poor public impression of the game and the industry."

”Equipoise I use on my Race Horses (Geldings) an androgen ... pretty much increases red blood cell production, and increases oxygen uptake. For horses it produces super strength gains and tremendous muscle when taken in a 2cc doses a few times a week. I know other trainers that give 10 CC injections every 2 weeks and others that give 10 cc doses 48 hours out a race plus 10 cc every week. Serious results either way ... LOL talk about land sharks.”

“I use Equipoise with Ventipulmin Syrup for max benefits. Amazing.”

“Equipoise also makes them shine like glass. Here's a pix of a F Bomber ... to show you the glass on the coat. ”

“Equipoise is used on Horses, Canines, Roosters and Humans.

Never should anyone give a blanket dosage, of say 1/2 cc. Different brands of Equipoise have different potency. Alin has an equipoise that is 250mg per ml. Ganabol has one that is 50mg per ml. Since a cc = ml, you can see that a cc of one is 5X stronger than a cc of the other.”

“Liver toxicity is not an issue with Boldenone, and it can be used for long times on eit AAS use is of benefit to both, dogs who do anaerobic work like Weight Pull dogs and sprint dogs, as well as dogs who do aerobic as well as anaerobic work like a sled dog. But in order to be of benefit the subject has to really be worked.” “I just don't know if the majority of Bench Show dogs or even Schutzhund dogs tear down enough to benefit of the rebuilding properties of AAS.” “I think one would have to be very naive to believe that steroids are not being used on show and working dogs.” We have people that will put implants in the ears, put in fake testicles and cut tendons in dog's tail, yet we are to believe that they wouldn’t give a dog an injection every few weeks or a pill a couple of times a day?”

Recovery

“For bone fractures, metacarpal soreness, and tissue healing especially after surgery, Reepair injections give an excellent response.” (An unusual veterinary steroid, Reepair combines Nandrolone Decanoate 80mg/ml with 2 female sex hormones, hydroxy progesterone and a version of estradiol, totaling 82 mg/ml.

Reepair has been used by body builders to heal both chronic and acute injuries. Many athletes totally unable to bench press, and facing long lay-offs with shoulder injuries claim to be healed after one injection of Reepair).

“But along with muscle building anabolics can do other things. They can give the user a sense of wellbeing. Maybe a way to cover-up a temperament problem? Some anabolics can also decrease joint pain and muscle inflamation (Esp. Deca Durabolin). Looking for that far reaching gait that the dog loss as he got older? Another anabolic that is used quite frequently in Greyhound racing is Laurabolin (sort of Deca Durabolin light). It is used to control heat cycles and is the only anabolic allowed in some racing associations.”

“Competition is about one thing, Winning. Its like Vince Lombardi said, "Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing"

“Let’s take two very equal sled teams who will be competing against each other in the Iditarod. Team A will be conditioned from Nov. to Jan. using a good diet, good training and adequate rest. Team B will be conditioned from Nov. to Jan. using the same good diet, good training and adequate rest. Team B will also be administered a stack of Anavar tabs and Testerone Prop depo.”

“By the end of January the athletic ability of teams A and B will no longer be equal. Team B will be stronger, faster and more than likely have more endurance.”

“On Feb. 1st. the Anavar and Test will no longer be given to Team B. Come race day on the first Sat. in March, if team B is tested they will test Clean for AAS. The thing is however, Team B still retains most if not all of the gains they made from the 12 week cycle of AAS. The result being, Team A will get blown away by Team B, who tested clean.”

It makes no difference whether its human, canine, horse, or rooster. If a clean athlete is competing against an athlete of equal ability, but juiced, the juiced athlete will win most every time.”

“What is so comical is often times the athletes who are the most outspoken against AAS use are in reality the biggest Juicers.”

Fights and Aggression

We all know high T men fight a lot. And we should know that much exogenous administered testosterone (injected or swallowed or both) raises aggression. Some analogues more than others. The same happens with animals.

The outstanding NCAA Heavy Weight Champion Wrestler and MMA Fighter, Mark Kerr, put it best when he said, "Steroids will not make you crazy if the tendency isn't there already, just as they won't make you a great athlete if you aren't “

On the net you can find multiple discussion forums that discuss this. By example this one that is devoted to cockfights.

“I`ve successfully tried using TESTA-COCK (Anabolic Steroid) Testosterone in priming, precon, conditioning and also during the keep. 0.25 cc injectable 1x a week (Tuesdays) with supplementary B12 mixture of Belamyl + Weimmer + Coforta @ 0.25 cc injectable 1x a week (Thursdays) and the best balanced nutrition my limited money can buy. With due respect to non-users, I prefer to use anabolic steroids during conditioning to tone and fine tune gamecocks' muscles and nerves during training, turn extra fats into formidable and power packed muscles and enhance the killer male instinct of each of my fighting cocks. In most occasions, I only fight stags and bullstags and cocks not more than 3 years of age. Testosterone is best used for White Legged and Yellow Legged roosters, though Green and Blue Legged respond well, too. My conditioning period is that of the 30-day keep, though another 30-day pre-conditioning period is a must for me. In my honest observation as a cockfighter, cocks which I`ve prepared this way performed well even against the toughest ones. Most have won and some lost but fought til their last breath and gave my opponents a big run for their money. I like my opponents sweating out against me. I may have lost some of them but it’s fun and satisfactory for me seeing my cocks giving the hardest time to their opponents when they could not full off a win.”

“I would prefer a cock with a clear head anytime than a testosterone charged mad like hell cock on fight day.Just my two cents......”

Pig Juice

A new type of muscle builder substance being used by some trainers or vets, and one that has been detected in post-race testing on occasion, is Paylean, sold by Elanco, a division of pharma giant Eli Lilly and Co. Its ingredient is ractopamine.

Paylean, or “pig juice” was designed for pigs and its use is rumored to have been concentrated in the Quarter horse business. A number of positive tests for Paylean have been called in California and elsewhere.According to the company website, the product “directs nutrients toward quality lean gain and away from fat deposition, resulting in an increase of high-value, lean cuts of meat in pork carcasses. With years of university and private research Paylean has been proven to: increase rate of weight gain; improve feed efficiency; increase carcass leanness.”

Paylean (Ractopmine HCL) is a food additive and a beta-agonist just like Clenbuterol.
