The Basics of Sustanon
Sustanon is the classic king of testosterone in the world. There is no question, this ester blend of testosterone is a classic bulking steroid bused by bodybuilders, powerlifters, and any man who wants to get bigger and stronger. This is not a cutting drug, but it has been used for decades by athletes for competing.
Sustanon was brought to the international market in the 1970’s by Organon, the company now known as Merck. Organon also brought forth deca durabolin, Andriol (oral form of test undecanoate) and Pregnyl (a brand of HCG). Sustanon was developed to compete with the other esters available to treat TRT (test propionate, cypionate, enanthate).
4 esters make up Sustanon: Testosterone propionate (30mg), testosterone phenylpropionate (60mg), testosterone isocaproate (60mg) Testosterone decanoate (100mg) for a total of 250mg. The name “Sustanon” comes from two words: sustain, and organon, or to mean “sustainable from Organon”.
This drug is so unique because it delivers a steadier stream of testosterone because of the perfect mix of the esters. The rate at which the hormones are released depends on the weight and length of the esters, some take only days while some take weeks. The longer and heavier the ester attached, the longer the active life of the steroid. Here, the test propionate and test phenylpropionate esters have shorter active lives. This guarantees near immediate and sustained anabolic activity from Sustanon.
Sustanon is mainly used for TRT and some building cycles. Users report generally feeling better while on Sustanon. They dose this every week, classically, 1ml per week. Even on a micro dose, men feel better. Users report feeling even better on a micro dose of Sustanon over a micro dose of enanthate or cypionate, and when you look at the peaks, troughs, and total levels of free testosterone (with esters, the free portion of testosterone is slightly higher), and for that reason the central nervous system is stimulated and men feel better. Since Sustanon stays in the blood for a long while, the usual administration is every 10 days.
Sustanon is preferred during mass cycles as it drastically increases muscle mass and strength. Common side effects associated with steroid use are generally dose dependent. Sustanon has potent androgenic and anabolic effects. Additionally, with Sustanon, you get less estrogenic side effects and water retention compared to Testosterone Cypionate and Testosterone Enanthate. As with other synthetic steroids, Sustanon can inhibit the natural production of testosterone, therefore a post cycle therapy is necessary, with Clomid or HCG recommended.
