The HCG Diet Part 2

Official authorities and the official medical community are eager to explain that HCG does not perform any function in a diet in maintaining, or even increasing, muscle mass, during a diet low in carbohydrates.

But didn’t the same authorities, before pioneering research of Bhasin et al, claim that anabolic steroids did not have any effect  on muscle mass and muscle strength?

And until recently, the effects of rhGH on muscle mass and muscle quality, whether or not in conjunction with insulin .

As I just wrote much of this recognition is due to the inventive work of human guinea pigs, or bodybuilders as we sometimes call them.

In Part 1 of this blog-post, I wrote about the different qualities and effects of hCG. In Part 2 I tried to make clear where to pay attention to.  Part 3 of the blog-posts is meant to be challenging the low carb diet and the very low carb diet (VLC).

Bodybuilders in their contest preparation also mostly restrict the carbohydrates (carbs). Dependently on their fat mass.  Remember the  bulking-cutting. Mostly bodybuilders center their carb intake around their training to fuel their muscles. I don’t need to tell you that in that period bodybuilders use strong androgenics to maintain their muscle mass and to get hard and ripped. Winstrol – Trenbolone and Masteron are very popular, the use of other means to control water, pain  and appetite are not relevant for this article.

But this article is not only meant for bodybuilders and fitness enthusiast, but for all people that want to read about diets and fat los, like  by example housewife’s.

Most people that follow a VLC diet are afraid that they will burn muscle instead of fat. This will have an adverse effect  since resting muscle burns carbs, thus the more muscle you have the more fat will be burned to maintain that muscle. And that where hCG comes in.

On YouTube you can find many video clips about the hCG diet. Some want to show the scam by testing the oral or sublingual compound by means of pregnancy test strips. It’s obvious that many products don’t contain hCG. But even if they do hCG is unable to pass the mucous membranes of the mouth or nose. The only way to use big peptides like rhGH, insulin and hCG is by inbjection.

On the net you can also find many homebrew recipes like this one for sublingual usage : 1 hCG 5000IU + 1 cc of colloidal silver + 14cc's of liquid B-12. That totals 15 cc's which will last for 15 days (.5cc's in the morning and .5cc's in the evening). Keep your mixture in the refrigerator.

Because the hCG diet is so tremendously popular, just GOOGLE around, you will see that you are offered all kinds of products that supposedly contains hCG, like homeopatic hCG, tablets, drops, nasal sprays, precursors ..you should know by now….scam!!

Low thyroid levels are often associated with weight gain and HCG has a weak stimulating response on the thyroid gland. Although HCG supplements are sold for weight loss and are thought to stimulate the thyroid gland; HCG hasn't proven effective for this in research studies. Thyroid levels don't affect levels of HCG in the body: it is HCG levels that can affect thyroid levels

Forest Tennant MD. DrPH : “ It is my belief that HCG not only has testosterone-raising ability, but a neurogenic and anabolic effect on its own. HCG has two sub-units; one the same as that in luteinizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, and thyroid stimulating hormone while the other unit is anabolic in that it produces neurogenic growth.”

The idea that daily hormone injections might help people lose weight first occurred to British physician A.T.W. Simeons in the 1930s. At the time, doctors had reported success treating children with” Frohlich's syndrome” , a condition marked by obesity due to an abnormal appetite and slow development of the reproductive organs, underdeveloped testes and not entering into puberty. They treated them by giving them injections of gonadotropin derived from pregnant women's urine.

Simeons decided to experiment with giving the gonadotropin (it would later come to be called HCG) to people who were obese but did not have Frohlich's syndrome. When he did so, his patients' appetites diminished and the circumference of their hips and waists decreased -- even though they did not lose weight.

Simeons interpreted those findings to mean that the hormone moved fat away from the places where it was traditionally deposited and rendered it available for metabolism. He further supposed that if he injected overweight people with the hormone while limiting them to no more than 500 calories a day, they would metabolize that newly available fat and lose weight in the process.

Over the next 20 years, Simeons placed 500 of his patients on a strict weight-loss regimen: a daily shot of HCG and two daily meals consisting of 100 grams of lean meat, some leafy vegetables, fruit and a piece of crispbread, for a total of no more than 500 calories a day.

In 1954, he reported in the medical journal the Lancet that patients who followed the regimen for 40 days lost 20 to 30 pounds, and that 70% of them maintained their weight loss after going off the diet. He credited the hormone with making fat available for metabolism and enabling his patients to remain on the low-calorie diet without feeling weak, dizzy or excessively hungry. And hCG also showed side effects. Simeons noted that his female patients often became pregnant while on the shots, and today, in fact, HCG is approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a fertility treatment.

Over the next few years, doctors who put their own patients on Simeons' regimen reported similar successes. But when doctors and researchers began to rigorously compare the diet's key ingredient -- HCG injections -- to a placebo, or dummy injection, they failed to produce evidence that the hormone was anything special.

Dr. A.T.W. Simeons was well known for his studies and research background. He discovered the use of injectable atebrin for malaria for which he was awarded a Red Cross Order of Merit. He conducted extensive research on bubonic plague and leprosy control. Dr. Simeons is the author of several medical books and has contributed to many scientific publications.

More muscles by hCG treatment

According to a study of 1950 [1] two young men aged 24 years build more muscle mass if they indirectly increase their testosterone levels - not by injections of testosterone , but by administering hCG  that makes the Leydig cells to produce more testosterone.

The research was done by researchers at the University of Chicago . Experimenting with a new and purer hCG from Squibb in healthy young men in their mid- twenties. The researchers gave their subjects an injection of 500-3000 IU hCG  for 6 days. Before, during and after the administration, the researchers analyzed the urine of men .

They saw that the amount of phosphorus and nitrogen in it waned . That indicates anabolic processes in bone but especially in muscle . The men additionally became a few kilos heavier .

The anabolic processes have persisted until about 8-9 days after the treatment. The anabolic phase runs approximately parallel to an increased concentration of 17 -ketosteroids in urine . This points to an increased production of testosterone .

A profile I took from the net,

..just GOOGLE on hCG and you’ll find out it has many benefits, these are specifically acknowledged by bodybuilding forums.

HCG or human chorionic gonadotropin is a natural peptide hormonal agent that is today available in the form of supplements to individuals experiencing the lack of it. Use of these HCG supplements is associated with extraordinary muscle mass and size gains without limiting on the muscle definition.

HCG is consistently recommended to generate ovulation and cure ovarian conditions in women besides being suggested to hypogonadal men as part of the testosterone replacement therapy. It is also suggested by doctors for treating undescended testicles in young men and providing a signal to the testes for maintaining testicular size and condition. The use of HCG stimulates metabolic rate of the body besides showing usefulness for burning fatty substances into calories. This benefit is incredibly useful for melting bulges.

HCG use is also associated with muscle growth and stamina, red blood cell, performance, nitrogen retention, protein synthesis, and muscle function improvements. Human chorionic gonadotropin is also effective in stimulating the hypothalamus gland to control cravings for junks and deeply fried foods.

HCG is commonly used with anabolic-androgenic steroid drugs for enhancing weight training results and keeping improvements over a period. Since HCG stimulates the testes to produce more of androgenic hormonal agent or testosterone, this medication is popular among athletes on severe and aromatizable steroid drugs who have been experiencing deficiency of testosterone. In addition to all these benefits, HCG is also useful in normalizing cholesterol and the hypothyroid glands. It is considered that HCG use shows incredibly beneficial for individuals experiencing serious health problems such as arthritis, joint problems, cartilage damage, or cervical problems. HCG is the best medication for increasing sperm count, making men more fertile, and helping them experience dramatic transformations by losing fat and weight besides facilitating faster recovery for muscle soreness after workouts.

What is the weight loss "cure" that "they" don't want you to know about?

According to Kevin Trudeau, author of The Weight Loss Cure "They" Don't Want You to Know About and late-night infomercial star, it's a concoction of injections, cleanses, pills, and a slim list of organic foods that will turn your body into a "fat burning machine

The "absolute cure for obesity" is based on the work of a British endocrinologist in the 1950s.  The first seven chapters of The Weight Loss Cure "They" Don't Want You to Know About are devoted to an alleged conspiracy theory. Not until chapter 8 does Trudeau describe the weight loss cure protocol.

Trudeau claims the "cure" has been suppressed by the American Medical Association, the FDA, and "other medical establishments throughout the world" because drug companies and the establishment are withholding information to keep Americans fat so they can make billions of dollars from drugs and surgery.

The author, without medical or nutritional credentials, is a controversial and very successful businessman who has made a career from hawking natural "cures" via infomercials and books.  He preys on the fears of consumers, giving them someone to blame for their overweight or obese conditions.

Kevin Trudeau was jailed for 10 years over weight-loss book claims on March 2014.

HCG as doping in sport

In 2009 Manny Ramirez was suspended under the joint drug agreement between MLB and the players’ association. Unfortunately for Manny Ramirez, HCG was added to Major League Baseball’s banned substance list in May 2008 and Ramirez received a 50 game suspension as a first-time offender of MLB drug-testing program.

March 3013 The lawsuit against Biogenesis revealed testosterone, human growth hormone, and human chorionic gonadotropin were among the banned drugs supplied and MLB players (Major League Baseball) were told that the drugs would increase their strength and help them recover from injuries more quickly.

More listings of hCG as doping is useless in an article on weight loss.
