  • alcohol replacement?

    Hung out with a buddy last night and split a case of beer... feel like crap today and looking especially soft... I know drinking is bad for me but after 8 years in the Marines, which is a drinking culture, and then a few years sailing, also a drinking culture, drinking in the evenings has become a part of my routine, and I'm having trouble breaking it... I don't usualy get wrecked, 2 or 3 a day is the norm but I'd really like to cut these out of my diet which is otherwise pretty clean...
    the problem is the hand to mouth fixation, i sit down in the evenings and I want drink something... soda is no better than alcohol, maybe even higher calorie... juice is also high calorie... coffee will keep me up all night... what I need is something healthy'ish and non stimulant to drink in the evening to replace the alcohol.... Any suggestions? anyone else have this problem?

          actually tried water and it helped for a bit but I drink a gallon+ of water a day while working on the farm... so when I come in in the evening I want something more refreshing.... At the moment I'm thinking lemonade might be the best bet but I hate to drink the calories...
          I'd even be willing to buy some specialty drink if I could find one... maybe some type of cleansing thing or nutritional drink...
          Still open to suggestions.

            anyone here ever try Zija?? guy at the gym was talking about it... might be a good option even if it only has the placebo affect of making me think healthier and not drink alcohol.

                bought a month supply of Zija... which is about 3 bucks a day... bust still cheaper than beer and will be good for me... going to try and get into the routine of drinking it every evening when I come in as my "refreshing beverage" instead of beer...
                ... Mind over body is right... though hard at times... b ut like Epictetus said, "decide who you want to be and then act"

                    Kratom- legal opiate like substance u can make tea, helps with aches and different doses create different things euphoria ect

                      yeah, i almost talked myself out of it because of the price... but then I realized that if I drink a 6 pack a day that's at least 6 bucks or so... so if it stops me from drinking it will save me money...
                      ... also just ordered a bunch more yohimbine HCL and ephedrine... the more stuff I'm taking the more conscienscious I am... it's a constant reminder to not eat crap and drink... when I'm on nothing it's easy to slide into bad routines...

                          Like Arnold said: "milk is for babies, real man drink beer". If you eat right and train good... beer isn't that bad..And Arnold smoked pot also..lotta guys do. Plan an article about drug use of the pro-guys..It changes over the years, remember the Nubain period after DanD wrote about it?..

                              I don't have an ideal drink ,,, but if you have to drink something drink anything other than alcohol ,,, cut it down gradually and get rid of it
