NAC for Liver Health

Hey guys, who has used NAC for liver health and if so, how did you dose it? Have you had any labs done to see what kind of effect it has had?
I have some on order from True Nutrition. At the price the bulk powder costs, I don't see a reason NOT to use it.

I've never use it, but I'm have great results with milk thistle. I had my gallbladder remove a few years ago and at a certain amount of gear would cause hell on my stomach and liver. With the milk thistle it in ables me to use much more gear than I could normal.

Thanks Big. I used 1g-2g milk thistle at times, but I haven't seen huge changes from it. Still, it isn't going to hurt to keep taking. We used to have a higher level competitor over at OLM that I really looked up to and raved about NAC but I never looked into it. After reading the following at Web MD, and then picking up a bulk bag of powder, which was only like $7 for a(cant remember how much powder) big supply.

N-acetyl cysteine is also used for preventing alcoholic liver damage; for protecting against environmental pollutants including carbon monoxide, chloroform, urethanes and certain herbicides; for reducing toxicity of ifosfamide and doxorubicin, drugs that are used for cancer treatment; as a hangover remedy; for preventing kidney damage due to certain X-ray dyes; and for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Healthcare providers give N-acetyl cysteine intravenously (by IV) for acetaminophen overdose, acrylonitrile poisoning, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease), kidney failure in the presence of liver disease (hepatorenal syndrome), chest pain in combination with nitroglycerin, heart attack in combination with nitroglycerin and streptokinase, and for helping to prevent multi-organ failure leading to death.
