  • Aspirating Pus?

    Hi guys,
just wanted to pin my quad and as I aspirated I pulled white pus-like stuff into the syringe. I pulled out the needle immediately without injecting anything at all.
That sounds like I accidentially hit a sterile abscess, doesnt it?
But I have neither pain nor swelling in that area and can walk und squat like I always do. Could that probably be fascia or other kind of liquid like sarkoplasma?
The liquid I pulled out was pretty white not yellowish like pus normally is.
The shot was also not as orthogonal as it should be.
Anyone experienced smt like that? Quad feels now bit of sore, but I dunno if thats just imagination.

Edit: Seems to get a little warm now, but still not puffy or painful while touching/pressing, no fever. Annoying, that Im ill imho. So I think the little dizzyness which started today is from my flu.
Have some Keflex on hand, any common dosages for a abscess prevention?

    Getting a little nervous...

Thanks for answer guys... Had started a tiny keflex cycle 1000mg ED split in 2 doses. I had an abscess in the mid delt few years ago. Quad doesnt feel sore, no pain, no warm feeling nothing. Wouldnt think theres anything if i didnt aspirate that shit. Did 880lbs legpress yesterday after some lightweight squatting, couldnt go max because of keflex and flu, but no problem at all with the quad.
Has anyone a timespan how long it does take until the real pain and swelling starts in quad? I dont mean the warm feeling a couple of days later, I mean the real pain and the lockdown of the range of motion and so on. As I said I know it from mid delt, but thats a so tiny muscle in comparision, so I think its maybe a much larger timespan.

pus = an accumulation of fluid, living and dead white blood cells, dead tissue, and bacteria. strange that you have no s/s of an abscess. How big was the needle you were using? A sterile abscess would form if you have to much scar tissue in the quad.

Hey thanks for replies. Was a G21 I dont know if thats an international standard. Its .8mm x 60mm I think. Aspirated about .05-.1cc of that whitish stuff. And no still no abscess signs. Its not even puffy or soft, checked that while legpressing...
Yesterday I started to massage the quad with a wooden "foam roller". Maybe the heavy pressure releases the pus into the soft tissue and the antibiotics do the trick. Otherwise Im living next to a hospital, if its a bigger abscess breaking out and Ill get the fever and the sepsis...

I appreciate your responses. Was a G21, albeit I can't say for sure if that constitutes a global norm. Its .Maybe 8 mm by 60 mm. I inhaled about.5–.1 mL of the white powder. Still no visible signs of an abscess. It's not even fluffy or squishy; I made sure while doing leg presses. geometry dash
