Hmm... I usually go for the glutes, almost never had a problem. Been shooting up to 5cc'd there with no prob, my buddy too. First time pinning my self in the flutes was a bitch thou, not for the pain, just tricky getting in right position lol. Never had any real pains after pinning, but once my leg got really swollen.
