Aspiration question

Let's say you pin yourself, aspirate and draw a little blood. You pull out the pin. Now what? Do you reuse the same pin or replace it?

Re use it is what I usually do, you can change the tip if you want but I just wipe my alcohol swab across it and hit another spot

Ditto, its my blood so no worries.

From what I know you really should wipe the pin off with an alcohol swab, the pin is sterile an the swab is not. I pull it out and move it a 1/2" to 1" away.

Yep! Thats what the wife "RN" told me to do to Big also. If she is not around I some times cant wait for her and she gave me some schooling on it. Better then throwing a
clot to the brain... LOL!

I always put a new needle on the syringe. Needles are cheap and one use damages the tip, not to mention if you used that needle to puncture the vial. Here's a neat pic lol
