  • What Got You Your Best Results?

So during this time of waiting for my gear I have not been at idle by no means. I continue to train as normal and have been researching and listening to people's advice. In this thread I want to hear what workout split, in detail, got you your best results for size and strength. I want to make sure that all who read this thread will have an eye opening experience and will in turn report their own personal gains or bombs. I know that there may be reason to argue so please respect each others opinions and remember that all people are different so don't blast anothers ideas. Who knows they may work great for someone else

I'm a bencher so anything that will put 5lbs on the bar interests me. I have my next meet Aug 27th and for this one I've been using a very heavy 5 by 5 routine. That and 8 weeks of test e have put 35lbs on my bench in just a little over 3 weeks. I just popped a 360 at a bw of 183. I recommend both, the routine and the test lol.

I frequently change my routine. This has yielded great results. 5 x 5 has put on the most strength. I have had the best shaping with a 4 x 10 setup followed by 1 set of light weights high rep to failure ( huge pumps).

One exercise that works for me is the press behind neck on the smith machine. About a year ago I was watching you-tube videos of Kevin Levrone and Victor Martinez doing this exercise and they have some of the best shoulders ever. I had to start light because of prior rotator cuff tears in both shoulders. I started with 70 lbs. and in 6 mo. I was able to work up to 180 lbs. In a years time I think I almost doubled my shoulder size. Mostly in the side and rear delt. I used Hammer strength and Life fitness machines for the front delt. This only works on the smith machine with an adjustable incline bench so you can lock your self in place. I was never able to handle anything near that weight with a regular barbell.

Just started it, not to bad the rotating routines keep me interested, did you follow the plan or eliminate some cardio for better results?
I've been using decent size dumbells to build up the resistance.

We are all different and know what our bodies can handle. I've worked with Lee Hayward (bodybuilding coach and contestant) and Vince Delmonte (fitness model contestant) who have helped thousands including myself. The results are quite amazing if you are looking for strength and/or fat loss. They approach the workouts in a different but affective way. I've been following their advice for some years now and I can tell you that you will get steroid like results and while burning fat at the same time. If you are interested to read about how they do it feel free to check out the sites below. I can also tell you that most bodybuilding coaches dont understand a lot about how to set up the most effective workout routine for the size of the person. God bless and good luck.

I just did something differnt at gym..got there late, around 5 so... you have to take a f----en number to get a bench, kinda like MVD but worse...anyway, I figurd screw flat bench today and shifted gears and went and did declines..I have always done declines secondary to flat..then got to thinking "why" I was soo much stronger on the declines, being it was my first exercise, it changed my whole routine that day and got sore as hell "which I love"...think I will do this more offten "eleminating or doing flat press last perhaps" and doning DB inclines first, or cables, or declines...Think in part everyone loves to do flat bench first as it is like a "show exercise" for many, myself included... I did flat bench "last" not too long ago and three sets of 135 is kind of embaressing...esspecially when your stuggling after doning every thing else first...lol lol ...really fealt like "everyone" was whatching for once....hahahah (poor guy, thought he could lift more than that..!!)...

my chest grew noticeably and fast when i quit barbell flat bench. i focused more on incline bench and using heavy dumbells for incline, decline and flat presses

yeah, ya know I have to say I don't get a pump really from doing flat bench as opposed to other motions...cable's absolutley "for me" kick ass as far as soreness and pump go.. think I will stick to this, and use flat bench maybe every few times..glad to here I'm not the only one to have noticed this..like I said kinda think flat bench is a little bit of a "show" exercise, not to say it isn't effective...but really, does anyone ever give notice to how much weight "one" has while doing cables...?? I say go with what hits hard for "you" thats what works...just my .02

i think decline is the best chest excersie you can do as you use more of your chest and you will be less prone to injury .. watch dorian blood and guts vid and he says its one of the best aswell ...
