Does anyone know if ANY supps or gear have any kind of reaction to methadone? I'm not a lame, I have tried researching myself, but can't find any clear answers on the net. I even tried talking to my drs and counslers, but they just automatically jump to not doing any substance with not much reason besides unsafe. I am currently on the clinic. I am at 90 mg a day. I hopefully will not be one forever. I have come down from 130 mg so the goal is to be completely off, but I was wondering for the mean time.

methadone is not suppose to have an adverse effects on the body. meaning its not suppose to be liver toxic like other opium based drugs it is meant to treat. like the previous comment said there are no studies on mixing the 2 compounds. you can however do blood work before during and after mixing the two to find out if its effecting your liver values or anything else that blood work can tell you. A close friend of mine is in the same boat as you and he has never had any problems cycling while in treatment. Everyones body reacts different to different substances . So be safe and do the blood work as protection for your body!

I went threw 25 ml of Andropen 275 while on methadone and was fine. Didn't notice anything negative from the mixing. Just expected sides for the gear. But that's all I did and have done ever, anything else. I think I will def try to do the blood work suggestion. Especially since I am pretty sure I have hep c, so I know I need to be careful.

at one point, i was surprised to learn how many gym rats are also addicts. i guess it shouldnt come as a shock though. our lifestyle is pretty OCD. i have known of guys who have used various opiates long term while running gear and they seemed fine. i never saw blood work, so i cant really say for sure one way or the other. the main reason i wanted to respond though was to suggest suboxone. i understand the side effects are way easier to deal with than methadone and in a lot of cases, i think the dr's are a lot more likely to truely want to help you.i've also heard of using new meds for rapid detox for suboxone now. there are so many methadone dr's out there just looking to make money. they act nice and friendly but they dont help you get off the stuff. coming down from 130 to 80mg was work, i'm sure, but you're gonna take a lot more fortitude as coming down from 30 to 20mg. most people who start M stay on it for years and years cuz its just so hard to get off.
most importantly, i hope you're building a good foundation of support. i dont know anyone who has failed when they've truely given 12 step a tryif you are new to the board, please take a minute to read the rules...CLICK HERE

ANYWAYS, I can get on rants with that. The Methadone and gym have been good at keeping me occupied and off the shit. And I look forward to my next sauce run so I can stab myself, sounds sick but it's the nature of the beast. Atleast this one keeps me healthy and I can keep it in check. I have an addictive personality, thats just what it is.
And I do agree with the 12 steps comment. It literally saved a friend of mine who was as bad as it gets. I'm just not personally ready for it yet. Hopefully soon.

Suboxone is usually a better choice than subutex if your body agrees with it because it comes in films and the naloxone in it is an additional abuse deterrent. With your methadone dosage being lowered you should be able to get away with two a day which at about $7 a pop is about the same as your $15 a day methadone treatment. Many doctors will only make you visit once a month and you may be able to find a doc who has prices slightly less than $100 a visit. (Mine was $85)
Suboxone or subutex is still very physically addicting and not a piece of cake to get off of but is for most people a much better choice especially if you hope not to be on an opiate treatment for years and years.
Suboxone does not have any well known complications with any gear or supplements but what is to note is that both methadone and buprenorphine have shown side effects of lowered libido, ED, and lowered natural testosterone levels. Buprenorphine has way less reports of this but is also far less well studied. Some doctors prescribe various remedies for this including sprays, viagra, etc. and various testosterone boosters for people on both methadone and buprenorphine. So it is relatively safe but your best bet is to talk to you're doctor about it. While not likely that you'll get a prescription you should be able to get your answers.
