  • Getting blood work done

I would like some advice please. This may sound awkward but how do you approach a doctor about blood tests? I don't feel comfortable just asking 'I'm on aas and would like to know how my blood, liver, and kidneys are holding up'.

Or is it just that straightforward?

There are some labs that you can send in your blood and choose the kind of analyze you would like to have!

Here's how I and many others do it. Go to "PrivateMDlabs.com" you pick "Female Hormon Panel". Trust me its not a joke, it tests all the stuff you need and its cheap. You pay for it online. Its $59.99 but you can find online coupons which make it $50. Then pick a location for the test, the labs are called "Labcorp" and they are everywhere. You print out the receipt and take it to the lab - you don't have to schedule an appointment. The printout doesn't say anything about "female" nor do they ask you> Once there it literally takes 15 min and you're done. You'll get the results e-mailed to you in 2 days. Its way easier than tryin' to explain it to your Dr. I do it precycle and post PCT.

By way of comparison, I had my personal doctor do it at his office. I got the bill: $800.00. I'm not shitting. I about tipped over.

If you have medical insurance you can just go to the doc and say that you have been taking legal pro hormones and was concerned about you liver, kidneys, and such and they will run a full panel on you. Since then I get my work done and since my natural test levels post so low while im on they are considering a scrip for me. I guess it all in how you approach your doc. If you have a concern about your organs then they will test you usally no questions asked and co-pay is usally less the $60

Also with doctor patient confidentiality legally you can say what ever you want to your doctor and they can't speak a word of it outside the exam room without your consent. A doctor will only tell you about the health risks and try to scare you but thats just what they do. Im just straight forward with my doctor and tell him what I need if he doesn't like it I'll go somewhere else.

true plus it is always good to start the conversation off with "Can I ask you something of the record?"

Irish, this is both true and false. If your health is in jeopardy, which by taking illegal drugs would be, the law states that they MUST report you, for your own health. At least that's how it is in both the USA and Europe. Dunno about other countries..

So let's say you have alarming blood work, your physician is obligated to give your case, which includes all private information to whichever other physician, as well as authorities if taking illegal substances.

Privatemd all the way! Easy as pie. I didn't have access to a printer and they even faxed my paperwork to the lab. Highly recommend them.

I totally agree with you xamo but most physicians will understand at least mine does and as long as your upfront and honest with them they normally will save themselves a bunch of bs but if my bloodwork is that alarming I would hope some actions were taken lol . Anyways I haven't had to use my doc for bloodwork in a while it's nice when your wife is a phlebotomist and works in the lab at a hospital and I get free pins

Will this test include IGF-1 levels in your blood as well? If not what test will?
