New guy. I'm 32 male 150 pounds at 5'11''. I have been hitting the gym for about a year and a half now and have gained about 5 pounds of muscle. I have always been a light weight who doesn't gain easy. my body fat is at about 10%. I'm looking into running a cycle to bulk up a little and gain some muscle, I am able to stay lean which is nice but makes it very hard to gain. Any advice for a new guy looking for some ideas. I have read a lot on the internet most of which is probably crap but I have learned a bit from the body builders bible I bought. Anyway hello all and thanks for any help.

This very important, most guys think there taking in enough calories, but there not. You need to calculate what your taking in, and then you'll know how much you need to add to that to put size on. most days im taking in about 3000 calories when I track them on my Iphone app, I think my job plays a big part in burning a lot of what I eat, as well as the strength training that I do at the gym, I nevr do any cardio in fear that it will only reduce the work I have made by burning my muscle for fuel. I believe that my calorie intake is still to low but after gorging myself with so much food its hard to eat more then the 3000 calories I manage to put down.

That's it there bro- you need to eat a lot more. I don't grow unless I am above 4200cals. I wasted many years trying to gain at 3000 cals and only ended up getting lean and cut. If you want to build muscle you have to eat a lot more."Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind, and nourish with repetition and emotion, will one day become reality."

I just might be eating to clean, I watch a lot of what I take in and a buddy of mine is telling me to just eat, I do a lot of the peanut butter and toast, which is good carbs and protein, im going to add in the weight gainer. I am getting stronger for the most part with bench squat and deadlift so something is happening, just no weight is being put on. I will pull a meal plan of from my log and post it to see what you all think.
