  • Giant pumped up steroid 'rats' sold as fake poodles in Argentina

A pet lover in Argentina has been conned into buying what they think are cute poodles, only to discover they are actually steroid-pumped ferret.
One retired man from Catamarca, shopping at Argentina's largest bazaar was given a knock-down price from a vendor for what he thought were pedigree dogs, reports the Daily Mail.
He became suspicious he had bought ferrets (what Argentinians call 'Brazilian rats') and when he returned home took the 'dogs' to a vet.
Vets confirmed he had in fact purchased two ferrets that had been given steroids at birth to increase their size and then had some extra grooming to make their coats resemble a fluffy toy poodle.
