A gun doesn't make someone a hero... if you aren't forged with principles and values, even if you carry a gun you won't do anything... give a gun to every single citizen... it'll be the exact same.. most people are selfish and cowards. It's sad but the truth..

Its nice to see that on this forum, we agreed to disagree. That it is possible to debate things without bashing and flaming.

In the Netherlands a retard shot a lot of people cause he had a permit, now the debate in the Netherlands is to examine ones mental health before handing a permit. With you US guys the subject is more sensitive due to history.

One armed guard will not work. You need a minimum of at least four, and not guards for Christ's sake. Think about it, a chaotic scene, people running, screaming, shots echoing, but due to the echoes and short report, it's hard to pinpoint where it is coming from. You have visual and mental stimulation that is too overwhelming for one person. You need at least four, ideally six. You military guys know what pattern I'm eluding to.
Most states have a "neutralize the threat" policy on active shooter situations nowadays. That means you immediately go in and dispatch the threat. None of this wait for SWAT bullshit.

Bill Cooper was talking abut this scenario a long time ago..
Attack on civil liberties in usa.
NYC mayor speaking about banning guns sale and he's sorrounded by arms guards..
            problem-reaction-solution scenario right here..

so if a guy had a gun to your kids head, your wifes head, your moms head..... you would walk up to beat him up???? you and your family would be safely in heaven looking down on that piece of shit open his new AR-15 his mom got him for Xmas..... im sorry xamo, i respect your opinion on gear and fitness but im going to have to call you an ASS on this

hand to hand compat will not save you from a gun, if that scum bag coward thought for one second that 1 person in that school MIGHT have a gun he would of never steped foot there, i work in NYC all scholls have an armed security gaurd in office and roaming the halls, time are changing we have guys on airplanes with guns now to protect us, i see hundreds of military in the train stations every day so i can get to work safely and yet we leave our most precious people in our lives (women and children) to fend for themselves by hand to hand combat against an armed weirdo?????

that is the dumbest thing i think i ever heard

ps. fuck me i can't stay out of this subject haha

with more people armed there would be less cowards preying on teachers and children but your right there will still be hard core criminals that are not afraird of armed people but it will stop some of this

Hm, I guess our combat/firefights experiences are quite different. I respect your opinion but because you can't disarm somebody doesn't mean others can't. Military and law enforcement tactics and techniques are quite different, also because law enforcement is trained to restrain and use lethal force as last resort when we in the military are all about survival, so kill or be killed. This may sound cocky but I assure you it isn't, it's just how different our fields are...

Also what I meant by principles and values do protect people, not guns, I meant that if someone doesn't have both, but carries a gun, he will not have the courage to use that gun. Unless it's about self preservation, not others'.

I guess I just don't have faith in people. They are cowards and most will never change.

I'm starting to see your point, xamo. Rules of engagement are not something the general public can wrap their heads around. Most people do not have the discipline to hold to the same basic principles that are second nature to us, like trigger discipline and positive target ID. I think I've been a little too absorbed in the constitution to really give gun control a chance. You're right. Tom, Dick and Harry are, generally speaking, probably going to be too freakin' terrified and incapable of using good judgement in a crisis situation. Your lack of faith in the general population is well founded. One has only to open the newspaper a couple times a week to confirm your assertion that most people just can't be trusted.

Since we are breaking a rule and talking politics, I'll spice it up even more.

I carry, but IMO the only ultimate solution is Jesus

I know what you are saying xamo. I personally do not own a gun. Although I still practice shooting ect. I am thinking of getting one but I prefer bow hunting. One thing is for sure, fuck those gun-toting gangster wannabes, and those who hurt innocent people with guns or weapons in general

This will be a never ending thread. Too many different views of the topic
