That girl wouldn't be able to fire a rifle..she'd break a finger nail and see it the end of the world. no no no. Anyway I'm strongly against civilians carrying guns other than shotguns and stuff. The general population doesn't need guns period. What would they need it for? Especially military like weapons such as M4 or its variants, why? Some pretend it's for self protection... come on now... not even 10% of the general population could hit a target even at close range with an automatic weapon... add to that the stress of being in a life threatening situation? ... guns are useless to people who weren't trained and can only be dangerous in the hands of uneducated, unskilled people. Some woman who holds a M9 and fires at her attacker prolly will hit another civilian instead due to her missing... anyway the law states that the ammo cannot be in or next the gun... that means that if you're attacked you have to take your ammo, and put the ammo in, then fire. I can consider myself a professional in gun handling yet I know for a fact that on these terms I wouldn't be able to use the gun in time to defend myself.

I just don't get why people want to stick to the roots so much, they have no need for guns, none whatsoever. If they wanna go hunting why don't they use a bow? It'll be a lot more challenging.

That's all about showing off and intimidating. Have you ever been in a gun fight? I can guarantee you that once your life is on the line it gets trickier. The emotional response from getting shot at or pull the trigger / shooting to kill someone isn't something one can easily do or deal with. Plus self-defense? As I said...give guns to unskilled or uneducated civilians and make it ok for them to shoot for self-defense and you'll see a lot more casualties, and innocent ones.

more ppl die in car accidents..lets ban cars....chicago, dc and new york have strict gun laws, and as any of you know there is no gun crime there..oh wait.....the government can suck my ass, i dont need them telling me what i can do.. a guy in china just knifed a bunch of kids, crazy ppl will find a way no matter what................personally i like knowing that when u break in my house (with a gun cuz im sure a criminal will stop using them cuz of a law) i can protect myself and not have to wait for the cops to get off there ass. there is not many break-ins in my neighborhood because these shit heads know there is a good chance you are fucking w a gun owner

That point is mute. Even the most seasoned LE or Military professionals will still be impacted. Their POA/POI will be skewed just as this is a normal human response. Sure it can be controlled, but the factor is still there.
I'd rather have an unskilled person with a hot weapon on my 6 then not one at all. An unarmed citizen is powerless against tyranny. Like I've said before, look at Nazi Germany circa 1939.....not on my watch.

I am a Gun owner I own few assault Riffles AK47/ AR15/ Luppa 338. I do not HUNT I do not enjoy killing Animals. I do enjoy Target Shooting on a weekly basis that is my biggest hubby. As what had happened yesterday at the school shooting, I just feel hollow inside thinking about the poor little Angels who left us so suddenly and violently. I don't have children, but I can only imagine the pain and anger of loss these parents and the community are feeling. My Prayers are with those lost ones and injured.
The issue becomes from Parenting I feel this society is slipping away kids are getting away with everything Violent Games, Respect, Love etc etc Its Shame,,,,

You can't compare a soldier to a civilian... and yes I remember quite clearly the oath. I live by it every day. Ppl are free to do whatever and I respect their choices, however I find silly the self protection argument. I'm active not ex even tho it means the exact same thing

Not only have I been shot at in a war time time situation, I've actually been shot in a civilian situation. And I still think that anyone who is not a criminal or crazy should be able to own any type of firearm they wish. I agree that anyone who owns a gun should be properly trained in it's use. Remember, the reason our forefathers passed the 2nd amendment is to guarantee the right and the means to overthrow a government that is no longer of the people, by the people or for the people. Not to mention the need to protect ones family in the event of a natural or man made disaster, which will definitely happen at some point. There is no arguing that point, it's a matter of when, not if. And people tend to make their own laws when the shit hits the fan. I'm no doomsday prepper, but I'll promise you that no one will take what's mine while I'm breathing. Any good family man should feel the same.
