Snovitra is a medication commonly used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. Erectile dysfunction is a condition where a man finds it difficult to achieve or maintain an erection suitable for sexual intercourse. This can be a source of significant stress and can affect a man's self-esteem and relationships. Snovitra helps by improving blood flow to the penis, thereby facilitating an erection when a man is sexually stimulated. Snovitra contains the active ingredient Vardenafil, which belongs to a class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. These medications work by blocking the enzyme PDE5, which can restrict blood flow to the penis. By inhibiting this enzyme, Snovitra helps to relax the blood vessels in the penis, allowing for increased blood flow during sexual arousal. When a man is sexually stimulated, nitric oxide is released in the erectile tissue of the penis. This nitric oxide activates an enzyme called guanylate cyclase, which increases levels of a chemical called cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). The cGMP relaxes the blood vessels in the penis, allowing blood to fill the spongy erectile tissues and cause an erection. PDE5 inhibitors like Vardenafil prevent PDE5 from breaking down cGMP, thereby enhancing and prolonging the erection.
