NORTH HAVEN >> A Milford man is facing charges after police say they spotted drug paraphernalia on the floor of his car and found a stun gun inside during a traffic stop.
Christopher Platt, 36, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of an electronic defense weapon and possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle.
Platt was arrested after someone reporting a vehicle swerving while traveling on Quinnipiac Avenue around 6:20 p.m. Friday, North Haven police spokesman Lt. Kevin Glenn said in a press release and subsequent email Monday.
Police found Platt’s car in a gas station parking lot. Inside the car, they allegedly found anabolic steroids, a syringe and the stun gun.
Platt was released on a promise to appear Aug. 20 in Meriden court, Glenn said.
According to state judicial records, a man whose name and birth year match Platt’s is facing charges in connection with multiple cases in Milford. Charges in those cases include possession of narcotics as well as insurance fraud and larceny.
The Connecticut Post reported in September 2013 that Platt was charged with falsely reporting a burglary at his home and submitting a fraudulent reimbursement claim to his insurance company.
