How can io get a forum off the ground like juiced muscle but gambling one

Hey this is for the website owner im trying to work on my sports gambling forum in my spare time do you have any advice to get it going and to the level of this site.It is a sports gambling forum.I use the simplemachines one.it looks like you guys use something similar or Vbulletin most likely.
So any computer guys i would appreciate any advice and no im not trying to stomp on juiced muscles toes its for a sports gambling forum and i really like this site i see theres been alot of work put into it and probally has some tips to help me out.
