QuickBooks Error 15106 occurs during software updates, often caused by permissions issues or antivirus software blocking the process. To resolve it, ensure you're logged in as an Administrator and disable any antivirus or firewall temporarily. Check that User Account Control (UAC) isn't preventing the update and make sure there are no pending Windows updates. If the problem continues, repair QuickBooks through the Control Panel by selecting Programs and Features and choosing the Repair option. If that doesn't work, a clean reinstall of QuickBooks may be needed to fix any corrupted files.
