So everyone in my family knows ive always been serious about bodybuilding and getting big. However very few know that im using gear. Not sure who, but somehow it got back to my dad and he called me last night wanting to talk about it. He wasnt mad, just more concerned. Not with my health so much, but more with me wasting my time and money. He said this to me, "son i've been around a lot of guys who used them and im tellin you, you're wasting your money and time, their effects dont last son" I then went on to tell him about how if your diet and training is on point and you can stay focused even when "off" that you can indeed keep most of the gains. He couldnt disagree more. He said, "ok son, you are hardheaded like me, you have to figure things out the hard way just like i did" Then he said, "if you're right and you can keep the gains then why do all the muscle heads stay on year around?" He told me that back in the early 90's he did 4 cycles. He said he was huge into eating big and training right, he said the only steroid he ever was able to keep anything from was when he added winstrol. He said he'd lose everything he gained in size, kept a little strength, and when used winstrol that hed stay hard for a few months after. My dad is a smart and honest man. He swore to me that im wasting my time unless i plan to stay on year around. What do you guys think? My dad really has me second guessing myself and the lifestyle im living. Am i wasting my time and money or is he just wrong?

Thats a loaded question....this lifestyle isn't for everyone or everyone would be living it.....I'm not going to argue point on point with your Dad cause he's your Dad and he's only concerned that you will suffer some negative side effect from using and be sorry you ever started so he's looking out for you.....I have 2 boys and would I want them starting hell no but if they are 28 years old like I was and they pick up that pin for the first time Im gonna sit them down and say look, your old man is bald with high blood pressure and diabetes so think long and hard about what your about to do and leave it at that......is everyone going to be bald and have high blood pressure who uses?? No probably not, but they have to make that choice themselves.....through all this I wouldn't change a thing I love this life but asking if your Dad is right or wrong is a question that can't be answered

Couldn't agree more with limo brother. Its not about whether or not he right or wrong, its about the lifestyle you choose for yourself. He is just part of the "uneducated" society that our govt thru the media has created. He did 4 cycles and lost what he gained? Well what other factors were involved? Did he continue to train hard?Did he continue to eat right? Did he dp pct properly? Many factors involving this question. I myslef have cycled on and off for probably 15 years now and have kept much of my gains even while off. Why? Because I continue to train and eat properly.Meaning not following the same routine and diet while "on" biut modifying both when off as needed.
As far as why "muscleheads" stay on year round, its not just for the muscle gains(well some it is) but for most its about the many benefits it brings. From the feeling of well being,to the rise in sex drive,to the anti-aging properties of them, etc.Ask him why now is TRT becoming more and more of an everyday thing for againg men? As we age,the lack of production is what breaks our bodies down. The lack of our (mens) most fundamental hormone that makes us what we are--MEN ,is what causes health problems.
If used properly, you can live a long healthy life and feel better than the average joe lacking in test.
My advice to to get him some good info on AAS and let him become more educated on it.Thats what we need, more people really understanding AAS ands their benefits and not the bullshit that the govt wants put out there.

First I agree with both limo and F.I.S.T.to maintain you need to train and eat right all year, thats the way you keep your gains whether your on or off gear and thats the hardest part. As for the government and the media they both bad mouth something they know nothing about. I still get people saying to me "but your dick gets smaller" this come from people who are uneducated on AAS. It's boils down to whether or not you really want this life style, as far as I'm concerned this is what I chose and everyone needs to deal. The Rules At Juiced Muscle (everyone please read)

First I agree with both limo, F.I.S.T., and MrBig...Like your dad is going to say fuck yeah son. Lets shoot some test and go bang some hoes.
And not only does keeping your gains pertain to how hard you train well you are off cycle, but when you introduced the cycle in your development. If you start a cycle and you are no where near your genetic potential, then yes, it is quite possible you can lose some of your gains.
Furthermore, it sounds like you are quite inexperienced as well when it comes to cycling. Otherwise you would have not started this thread, because your dad was mind fucking you.

As mentioned your dad isnt going to encourage you to take the same risks he did. He is gonna tell you the negative stories but not the positive because he cares about you.
BUT!!! On the flip side your now asking people here if we agree your wasting your time and money with this lifestyle?? But you are asking people who have chosen this lifestyle. To admit your dad may be right would mean us admitting to ourselves we are wasting our time and money... If thats what we believed then most of us would not be doing it. We have chosen this life, we all know the risks so its obvious we believe in what we are doing.
Its a choice YOU must make. Educate yourself to the best of your ability then choose the path you feel is right for you. You dad is biased and so are we. As limo said we chose this but would not want our kids doing it. I grew up around drugs and violence... I loved it... Would i teach what i learnt to my kids...Fuck NO.
Its true that many lose everything they gain because they are not dedicated to what they do. I doubt you could ever keep 100% but many keep alot of gains if they stay focused. But as with everything, everyone is different.

Nothing is more eye opening then a parents opinion. They know alot more then what we know. They have been through life longer and your dad being in your same shoes is scary. I wouldnt know what to do. Maybe hes trying to tell you to not to to caught up in it. Like only doing 1 or 2 cycles a year and not get carried away with it.Muscles are made in the kitchen, not in the gym. Eat big to get big.

Yes ipenetatah, i am very inexperienced with cycling, thats why i started the thread, must you always leave smart ass remarks that have no place in the thread? It seems you like to do this alot..I guess hearing this coming from my father did indeed just mindfuck me to an extent. My father and i have a fairly honest and open relationship. He never judges me or looks down on me for choices and decisions i make in life and he's always offered the the most honest and upfront advice possible. He is a smart man, scary smart and hes been around. I spoke with him again and asked him if he knew about pct. He immediately said, "son all the nolvadex and clomid in the world wont help you keep test based gains, you will always blow up and deflate on test" Lol, i couldnt believe it. I never thought hed know shit about pct. He did though. I told him i'd proove him wrong. He asked me what i was running...i told him, dbol test deca. He told me that if 4 months after the cycle if i retained 50% of the gains that hed pay my gym membership for the rest of the year. Guess i gotta prove ole dad wrong. This is gonna be fun. Thanks for the replies guys.

Dboss10, whether i agree with your dad or not, its clear he knows what he is talking about, he clearly has experience and Dbolli is right, parents advice is usually good advice. Your lucky he knows now, you should keep him involved and let him know what your taking. Whether he agrees with your decision or not, if you continue to cycle he will be good guidence for you.
I dont think you mentioned this in your thread, how old are you dboss?

i also had a similar talk with my father and my family actually about my test usage (i say usage because i truly believe my use of gear isnt extreme or abused) i sat down with him and we talked for about two hours (which is long for us, my relationship with my father isnt the best) and i explained to him everything ive researched and the knowledge ive attained through hours upon hours of reading, searching, and understanding. my father respects my decision, however my sister (who is a doc) and mother do not but i told them regardless if there would b any complications in the future. In all honesty, your father does look out for you but you have to experience things for yourself and make your own opinion about it. While he says you cant keep the gains, ive always believed. If there is a will there is a way, and when reading arnold's bible to bodybuilding "i knew bodybuilders that didnt have the best genetics, but literally willed their muscles to grow." so put ur mind to it and prove ur old man wrong, and walk away accomplished. best of luck brother.

Well I can def say he is right in one sense example me and my boy started cycle around the same time cycle was the same when we came off he kept eating right training hard ect and he kept all of his quality gains me on the other hand had a hard time getting to the gym stopped eating right ect I gained 30 pounds he did as well I was blowing up but I lost almost everything because I didn't continue the diet or the routine but he did and he looks great me on the other hand I have a lot of catching up to do but I will get there and I won't give up this time if this helped u any its all about training and eating after the ride is over

He does have a point in the sense that people who take excessive amounts of test (ie 1g + ew) who make massive gains are not likely to keep most of it. I find it hard to believe that when your nat test levels return that your body will be able to keep up with that much unnatural bulk. But thats not to say for an average reasonable cycle with good pct and consistant diet and training that you cant keep most of it.
Your dad must respect your wishes but also you must respect his but at the end of the day its your life and your body. But i think maybe you shoud start by following his advice and then as you gain more experience and knowledge then eventually YOU decide the next step for what suits you. But whatever he says you should still keep test as your base. No matter what your dad recommends i would not advise running winny and mast without some decent test in there.
