  • Body Shaving

This question isnt really for the vets that enter competitions as I know you have to shave/wax before competitions. This is aimed at the regular gym mortals.

Is it ok to shave your chest/stomach to show off the your definition? Although England is a pretty modern country i think in some ways its still old fashioned and old school. More so than alot of the rest of europe. England is a very working class place and male grooming is still frowned upon a bit. The younger generation seem ok with it bit my gen and older have the men are men attitude and its a mortal sin to go on tanning beds, moisturise, shave the body or do anything thats not considered masculine.

Any of you do this? Im going away on holiday soon and have worked hard to look the best i can, im quite hairy on the chest and abs and want to show off what ive achived... Is this wrong?

Just wanted your thoughts on the matter. Any opinions from people of all nations will be interesting and appreciated.

I shave my hairy legs 2 times a year (plus hairy ass of mine).. Have done so for a couple of years and now they have stopped producing so much hair and I only do it once a year!

My chest I shave once a year ...

Facial hair goes of when its time to get a sun burn ... When time has come and the sun brun has done its job the body hair is back to normal and everything is just fine in my eyes ,-).

    Happy shaving bro'

Thanks for the response bro. I trim my chest with clippers right now to keep it tidy. I also trim my arse and pubic area for presentation. ha ha. I also shave my head and face every few days. I think ill just do it. whats the worst that can happen, it'll grow back. Just curious to see what the majority do on here.

I get called out on this topic all the time, i live & born in the US but my heritage is from the middle east. So that being the case, i grow a good amount of hair on my chest, face, stomach, not so much legs (but enough to take away from muscularity) and of recent due to cycle my back. I am an inspiring fitness model and i actually took some photos this weekend. So i shaved the whole thing legs, chest, stomach, and had my pops do my back/neck. normally i just do chest, stomach, pits, quads every now and then. A lot of ppl who dont really get it look down on it, and i always gettin shit from my family being that they r of the older generations. But at the end of the day, as long as i know i look good and every muscle group is easily seen all the haters can suck my nine. So it doesnt really bother me, i figure if they r talking negatively they r just jealous, and it 99.9% of the cases they are. If you got the aesthetics might as well show it, uve worked hard for it. I know i have

Your right. I think jealousy fuels most nasty comments. People may criticise us but deep down wish they had our bodies but are too lazy to acheive it. Thanks for the response.

I just keep everything short with clippers. I have shaved my chest and I have use nair like products in the past but it comes back too fast and I always end up with stubble and razor burn. Even though its a little more aestheticly pleasing smooth, I don't put myself threw the pain and irritation any more.

If i do shave my chest then it will only be for my holiday. Definitely wont be keeping ontop of it regular. Too much hassle, and living in the UK we only get a few weeks of shirt off weather anyway.

I've started shaving my chest recently, now i can finally wear t-shirts without my hair hanging out.

I run into the same issure razor bumps. I just trim every now and then.
Muscles are made in the kitchen, not in the gym. Eat big to get big.

This is good enough for most of us. I'm a hairy mofo (damn test) and theres no way id ever shave. It would grow back way way too fast and id get bumps and whatnot. And fuck what other people think bro, theyre probably just jealous that you are big and ripped and they look like shit. Shaving doesnt make you any less of a man, thats my opinion

Yeah I just use clippers on lowest setting. I have the same problem with ingrown hairs so I just clipper it.
