  • Whos tells their doctor???

A post I read here earlier made me think of this thread.

Who tells their doctor about the aas use? If not, why?

I personally have told my doctor from the very beginning.I wanted to make sure that I would react well to them and wanted to make sure that he was testing my blood for everything that could be effected by their use.

I did actually have this come in to play many years ago when I was just getting started with their use.I was to have blood work done and he only had them looking for a couple of things, but once I told him I was taking them, after his speech about thier potential neg side effects,he then added serveral more tests to be done.

Thanks god everything came back normal and always has since then.

Just wondering everyones thoughts on this.

The good thing is the confidentiality. A md can b sued for revealing medical records without consent from the patient. He doesn't have to treat u but chances r he will. Therefore why not tell him? even though its frowned on, like masturbating on an airplane. Thanx a lot bin laden.

I haven't told mine... doesn't the confidentiality thing get voided if you are commiting or plan to commit a crime? or is that just with shrinks? I live in a small town, know the sherriff and all the deputies... if the doc can narc it would be a pretty easy pick up...

No no no bro. If u go to the doc ans say I'm hooked on heroin he'd suggest rehab and methodone or suboxone. They can't do that

the real source of my fears about telling the doc are that I know he's a hell fire and brimstone tea totaller... if i was on heroin he'd see me as sick and want to help me.. so I wouldn't worry so much ... but with roids... he'll probably see it more as a sinfull self indulgent and may not feel the same need to "help" as he would with a narcotic or alcohol...
... I am looking for another doc but there just aren't that many within a reasonable distance here... and most of them are about the same.... If I can find one that's younger and less religious I'll definitely tell him.

Atavist, graffix and safe are correct.Your dr CANNOT tell anyone about your personal health records or anything you are coming in to see him/her about.Whether they think you are wrong by their morals,it is illegal to divuldge any info concerning your visit.

My wife told my doctor as soon as I had my heart attack a few weeks ago. Seemed to be more concerned about the ECA I was taking. My blood pressure and heart rate sky rocketed and caused a piece of plaque to dissect my left anterior descending artery which feeds the anterior portion of the heart along with the left ventricle. Now, I just wish he could tell me the test-e I was on months ago had nothing to do with it, but he won't quite commit, lol.

my doc asked me if I was using steroids and I said no. I don't want to risk anything effecting my life or health insurance.

Sorry to hear it brother. How long have you been cycling and have you been getting blood work dine regularly? These alone will tell you if you've been at risk for anything.

Thats an understandable response as many have the same fear, but don't you think that taking AAS could be an ever bigger risk? By your dr not knowing (or lets face it,he knows) but by you not acknowledging it to him he cannot and will not get you the full blood panel tests that would be needed to tell you if something were wrong.

Think of it this way, there are certain values that come back on blood tests that will be high as a result of taking AAS,but him not knowing this, may send up a red flag to him that there is something wrong, went its just the gear, you know what I mean?

By letting your doctor test you fully,it will not only assist you with taking AAS,but also help prevent any serious conditions from occuring. If something were to happen to you while on,you think that your insurance co will not find out becuase you didn't tell your dr? It would be worse on you imo.

Just something to think about brother. You ARE playing a serious game,so no matter what you need to make decisions based on that.

Either way thank you for the post and the feedback. Its always great to hear from everyone on these things.Hopefully if enough people hear about others fears, things can change.
