  • What's on your IPOD?

What are your favorite types of music to listen to while working out? Do you listen to a specific type of music while working out or do you prefer a mix of several different genres?

i used to listen to hard rock. then i stopped listening to music for years. about a month ago, i decided to bust the ipod back out because i have sometimes felt distracted. instead of hard rock, i've started listing to techno. it's been an amazing experience. i have never been a techno fan before, but i just get into a trance-like state listening to it. really puts me inside of my head, if that makes sense. i didnt know what to listen to, so a girl from the gym made me 6 cd's.

I used to listen to rock while working out out back in HS and loved Rage Against the Machine & Metallica, two of my favorites. That was before I discovered techno, and now it's pretty much all I listen to at the gym. I love a nice 2 hour live set of say Marco Carolla, Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Carl Cox, Victor Calderone, Mind Control (Richie Santana & Peter Bailey) while on the treadmill or pumping iron.

I got hooked on Techno when the Blade movies/soundtrack (JunkieXL) came out.
But I also (believe it or not) get a kick out of jazz and good up beat Inspirational religious songs.

Pantera and a whole lot of rock. Rap every now and then just to change it up.

DJ Fresh, Professor Green, Skream, a lot of Example remixes are some good stuff. I have found that some of the techno stuff out there called dubstep was getting blasted in my ipod. One of the songs from the Inspirational Video posted by one of the members was called, "Professor Green - Monster (Camo & Krooked remix)-sick sick song.

Hardcore and it's sub-genres: Bleeding Through, Before There Was Rosalyn, Beg For Life, Call to Preserve, For Today, Emmure, Acacia Strain, etc...

Not a big techno fan, but for some reason I dig some dubstep.
