NVWA (Dutch food safety organization) warns of dangerous supplements
NVWA warns against the use of nutritional supplements Noxpump (Dorian Yates), Black Bombs (Dorian Yates) and Lipo-bolic (Revolutions). These supplements contain high doses of amphetamine-type stimulants with an effect not listed on the label.
This is evident from analysis of these supplements by the Doping Authority. NVWA is following the notification by the Doping Authority on November 11, 2015 a further investigation into these supplements. This research is still going on.
Palpitations
Users of these products can suffer from palpitations, high blood pressure, restlessness, headache, heart and liver damage, erectile dysfunction, psychosis and paranoid delusions.
An overdose can ,due to the effect of stress on the heart, be deadly. Consumers are advised not to use the products.
Companies that trade these products, are prohibited to do this any longer. They should report to the NVWA if they have these products in their possession.
In any case it concerns the following batch numbers:
Dorian Yates, Noxpump (14053334, 5/17)
Dorian Yates, Black Bombs, (13995735, 3/17)
Revolutions, Lipo-bolic (209 276, 12/16)
This was found analyzing 66 high-risk sport food supplements , 25 (38%) where found "positive", and 30 (45%) 'negative'. Eight (12%) contained doping substances' concentrations below the established threshold. These low concentrations can be explained by chemical processes that can occur with herbal ingredients. Since the concentrations found are so low, this gives in principle no risk for a top athlete at a possible doping. Three of the 66 products (5%) were 'not (fully) analyzable.
In three of the 25 'positive' products (5% of total) were doping substances found in high concentrations. Using these products can quickly lead to health problems, according the Dutch Food Safety Authority
If you want to buy a pre-workout or fat burner that contains high concentrations of the amphetamine-like substances (methylfenethylamine and oxilofrine [an ephedrine-derived substance]), you know now what to buy.
