Eunice man accused of selling steroids

A St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office undercover operation led to the arrest of a 22-year-old Eunice man for having a large amount of various steroids.
According to Capt. Clay Higgins with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, Alex Ridout had packaged the steroids and was selling them to customers.
He was released on a $27,000 bond.
"The illegal distribution of performance enhancing drugs is a dangerous business," Higgins said. "A study by the National Institute of Drug Abuse states that the abuse of anabolic steroids may lead to aggression and other psychiatric problems. Extreme mood swings can also occur, including manic-like symptoms and anger, sometimes called 'roid rage' that may lead to violence."
