  • Amir Khan Hits Back at Mayweathers After Being Tagged as Steroid User Too

The unification bout between WBA World Light Welterweight Champion Amir Khan (25-1, 17 KO?s) and IBF Junior Welterweight Champion Zab Judah (41-6-0 -2NC, 28 KO?s) will take place at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada on July 23.

Boxing analysts do have exciting predictions for these two boxing champions. Khan is at his prime while Judah is armed with experience. The Judah vs Khan match becomes more exciting because of an allegation that Amir Khan uses steroids to climb up the rankings.

Who?s the Source of Steroid Allegation?

Many boxing fans were not surprised that the allegation of steroid use came from the uncle of Floyd Mayweather Jr., Roger. The boxing trainer said in a recent interview that he knew Khan?s achievement in the ring is the result of taking steroids. ?The only reason Amir Khan has become the fighter he is, is because he?s got those steroids in his a** too,? Roger told Chris Robinson of the Examiner.

And of course, if it comes from the Mayweathers, they will not spare Manny Pacquiao. ?The same thing Pacquiao?s got in him. I know because those motherf***ers told me,? Roger added. When asked who his sources are, he declined to name them. Roger Mayweather claimed that there are people close to Pacquiao who told him about these things and even boasted that he talks to these people all the time.

Floyd Jr, his father and Roger Mayweather are respondents in the steroid defamation suit filed by Pacquiao. Giving these statements will just put them to a more difficult situation.

    Khan Collateral to Mayweather-Pacquiao Rivalry

The accusation could also stem from Khan?s targeting of Floyd Jr. once he defeats Judah. This could be an early attempt to destroy the credibility of the young fighter. But the most eminent reason why he was also being accused for using steroids is his connection with Manny Pacquiao. Amir Khan is training under Freddie Roach and Alex Ariza. If he is on the same stable with Pacquiao, it will not be hard to make allegations by association.

Roger Mayweather also predicted a loss for Khan which Coach Freddie Roach counters. Roach said in interview that two of his fighters, Khan and Pacquiao, can defeat Roger?s nephew Floyd Mayweather Jr. Roach also defended his two prized ward. ?I would question Roger Mayweather?s education about steroids, first of all. This is nothing more than hearsay. I can promise you that none of my fighters, Amir and Manny included, have ever been to the drugs chemist,? he added.

    Khan Fights Back

The light welterweight champion was agitated by Roger?s allegation. He told the media that he is a clean fighter. ?I?ve consistently proved that I am a clean fighter. This is nonsense. I?ve been tested repeatedly in my career, before and after fights, at home and my base in Los Angeles.?

Khan explained that he knows how thorough drug testing is especially that he also competed in the Olympics. ?I have been drug tested every time ? so many times I?ve lost count,? he said. With those tests Khan never failed a single one. To prove that he is not hiding something, Khan explained that he welcomed every and any test required of him whether it is out of the training camp or during trainings.

Khan has also something to say against Floyd Jr. who is one of the steroid accusers of Pacquiao. He said in an interview that he heard rumors about Floyd Jr. when the latter fought Oscar Dela Hoya. Some people wondered why Floyd Jr. suddenly looked so much bigger during that fight.

Despite the allegation that he is pumped up with steroids, Khan is so sure that he is not hiding something. ?I have shown to everyone that I am clean.?
