Are you trainning or just doing cardio or both? When I was trying to lose fat I would do cardio a 5am on an empty stomach and do about 20mins. When I finished I would shower and get my food for the day together. I would have a shake at that time with 66g of protein for a total of 600 calories. now I didn't concider that my breakfast. I would have that 9am. I wasn't trainnig until 5pm with weights. This worked well for me, I went from 23% to 18% b-fat in five week, but I also was on Clen to.

I can only manage about a 40 min. workout so I do like a circuit or superset but is balls to the wall. So u think eat a shake or something soon as I wake up or maybe eggs. I was doing the cyclic ketogenic diet. Thanks for the input.

I'm not sure of that diet, but the whole thing for me was to keep the cals down and my protein as high as I could. Everyone is different so what your going to have to do is try different ways and see what works best for you and how your body responds best. No, I would definitely do cardio on an empty stomach eat after you do cardio, you will burn more fat that way, your body wont be relying on any food that would be in your stomach for energy. As for training, if you have the time to do it later in the day would be best, remember your body rebuilds when you sleep. I train at about 6pm this way I can do two more meal before bed. Hope this helps.

I try not to train on an empty stomach. Your glucose drops and you will stop mid workout because you crash. Im not sure how rough your workouts are in the morning. I wake up at around 4am eat 3 whole eggs and hit the gym for an hour and eat a post workout meal and off to work by 7. If I do only cardio I will have 1 cup of yogurt, thats it. Test levels are at its highest in the morning. Its a good thing your trying to take advantage of that. Its just a pain in the ass trying to wake up that early.
Muscles are made in the kitchen, not in the gym. Eat big to get big.

I also get up at 4 am. I eat as soon as I wake, usually 8 egg whites, 2 whole eggs and 1/2 cup of plain whole oats. I start my workout around 5 or 5:15am workout for 45 min to an hr then immediately take in some dextrose (simple carbs). Within a 1/2 hr after that I eat my whey shake.
I do cardio in the evenings after work 3 times a week. When I start cardio I haven't eatin for 2 or 3 hours then I eat after the cardio. This seems to work well for me.
Like the others have said you should eat before weight training and avoid eating (especially carbs) before cardio. Check out the thread that FIST posted about a morning meal - good info!
