  • biceps finally sore...!!!

I been trying a slew of different things...machines, DB's, with various exercises, trying to make my biceps sore...finally thought I would try some serious "negatives" used stading DB's momentum jerks with overloaded weight and tried to control on the negative return as slow as possible...!! this has hit my biceps like nothing I have done yet....

Yea, negative reps can be a game changer. I swear by them. Have you thought about maybe not working out biceps for a 1.5 weeks because your not getting sore? Just a thought. I like to do really slow movements with a little lighter weight sometimes to really feel the contractions and burn, you know just to change it up a bit.

no, haven't done that..I only train them every seven days as is it, so I'm assuming they are well rested..but I may end up trying that in future, want to see where these "negatives" take me...so far, it has seemed to do the trick, for me bi's are just one of those muscles I have a hard time hitting effectivly, can get one hell of a pump, just can't seem to make them sore till using negatives...thx

I know I had the same problem. The bicep muscle is so small I dont know why people want to train the shit out of it. The only reason people may have hard time time developing muscles is because of overtraining. Good luck with everything.

yeah really blue...been trying different things for a long time...!! As far as set/reps go I usually do three to four sets of 8-12 range, with three differents exercises always tring something different for muscle confusion to help...I was just told while doing seated hammer curls to try the "Arnold way"..this dude was telling me on the negative to lower them "out to the sides"..?? have not tried this yet, but will on next go round with bi's...

Negatives work really well but you should only do them once every few weeks to give your body something different.

If you do them more than that then you aren't going to benefit as much.

yeah I purchased BFFM from Tom Venuto couple years ago...very good read, leared a ton about diet to achieve specific goals, very educational..I started doing straight bar curls now with some wierd form "grip" ...I just do standing curls with seven foot bar and hold my thumbs parallel to the bar..while grasping with the four fingers and palms only..don't know why, but turning thumbs outward and making them parallel to bar hits my bi's soo much harder..hope this makes sense..??
